This stellar couple (our parents) finally received their mission call on Friday! It was difficult waiting and waiting to find out where they would be sent. BUT, with the snail mail delivery on Friday came the much anticipated envelope declaring the where and when. Carl and Paula waited to open the envelope until they had all 5 of their children (Laurie, Mark, Craig, Aaron, & my Baby Brent) on a conference call so that everyone could hear the news together. It was a special moment. I cried.
They will be serving in the Omaha, Nebraska Winter Quarters mission. They are to report to the Missionary Training Center in Utah on August 2nd. The next 18 months they will be sacrificing their time and resources for the Lord. What an amazing example you guys are to us all.
On another note, I'm sitting here typing this post while Brent, Dakota, and Annie are in route to Leesville to help with a running out of time "to-do list". Unfortunately, I'm not able to go because of some very important deadlines that are requiring lots of man hours in the office. Lets just say it's going to be a late night and a very early morning.

Hi Robin,
What a cool post. I am still reeling from it, my mom & dad are going on a mission! Winter Quarters! WOOHOOO! From what I know about Omaha Nebraska, there's nothing but open fields and lots of wind. Take a big kite I guess.
You made me teary!!! I cried too when dad read the call, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I love this post and thanks for letting your family make the trip northward to help mom and dad prepare.
