It really was a fantastic Christmas!
Actually, according to Dakota, "this was this best Christmas EVERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"
That may have been because he received a total room makeover with an awesome built-in staircase bunk bed, new rug, new lamp, new curtain and rod to match, new bookshelf, etc. His room really does look totally different and is so much roomier with the change.
The rest of our crew had a great Christmas weekend as well. Friday night we spent the evening with family eating gumbo and potato salad, grilled oysters, desserts, and more and Saturday was low key with some light house cleaning, eating lunch out at Zoe's, lighting the chiminea on the back porch, watching the movie A Christmas Story outdoors by the Chiminea, baking and decorating sugar cookies for Santa, and sipping on hot chocolate.
Christmas morning was filled with the excitement of our kids (who actually had to be woken up just after 7:00 a.m.) opening presents and listening to Christmas hymns in the background. Annie was most excited about the CANDY! She didn't glance twice at the 5' wide LSU tee pee tent in the living room that housed all of their presents or the Minnie Mouse bicycle that was waiting for her. We could have wrapped up a box of candy and nothing else and she would have been just as content.
Sacrament meeting at church on Sunday was really powerful. It was a really nice treat to meet at 10 a.m. (which I think is the ideal meeting time) and see our friends from 3rd and 4th wards who met with us. It also was nice to leave after sacrament and have the rest of the day free to spend with each other.

Dad is doing well, had his first P.T. appt this a.m and made it just fine. Had his M.D. appt this afternoon and got staples out - he is doing great.
