" Where in the world!!!!," were my thoughts exactly as our bishop told us that the first presidency had requested 1000 men to aid of the people throughout south Louisiana that had an unpleasent visit from the evil Gustav. My trusty brother-in-law Josh and I decided we would join the efforts. After driving about two and a half hours through areas of Louisiana we never knew existed we finally arrived in Bayou Du Large. The town literally consisted of miles of houses along the bayou which is full of alligators. It was a long day but the eleven men from our ward had a great time together and we were very appreciated. The bishop ran the numbers by us today in church. Altogether, there were 700 work orders completed with the help of 1300 hundred volunteersfrom all over the southeast US. Dad was in the mix somewhere although we didn't get to work together. It was a wonderful experience and really neat to witness the networking capabilities of the church. Kudos to anyone who can find Bayou Du Large!!!Sunday, September 28, 2008

We are proud of you! Keep up the great work!!!! Mom
Thanks for the map! I was wondering where exactly you went. Josh told me that y'all spotted quite a few gators. Glad I wasn't there. I can't imagine what it's like to have the risk of alligators coming in your yard.
