Happy Belated Birthday Baby Brent!

Well, I missed the post about his birthday, but the day (or weekend) was definitely not forgotten in our house. We celebrated by having a very nice group of our married friends over for a fantastic meal prepared mostly by me. However, I would like to send a nice shout out to the Honey Baked Ham Store for the entree which was their delicious world famous 9lb ham all ready to serve. Another big shout out and "thank you" to my fantastic sister-in-law Jeni for making the absolute best homemade carrot cake. I asked Brent what kind of cake he liked beforehand and the only thing he could think of was Jeni's carrot cake. I finished the meal off with some fresh green beans, homemade rolls, and homemade corn pudding.

We originally invited just a few family couples over like Jeni and Aaron and Josh and Stacy. However, that just didn't seem like enough people since we both LOVE to entertain. So, our nice quiet dinner of 6 turned into a fantasic evening of 16. We had a lot of fun with some of the gifts he received (thanks Jeni and Aaron for that!) and we endured a round or two of mafia:)






On Sunday the 24th, his actual birthday, we had ANOTHER get together. This one was a bit of a surprise to him. I invited some of our "single" friends over for dinner with a nice ice cream cake from TCBY for dessert. Brent decided to take a nap after church around 5:30 or so and I brought Dakota to my mom's house around 6:30 so that we could actually have conversations with our friends without the little teeter totter interrupting. I got home right at 7:00 just as some friends were pulling in our driveway. Fortunately, I beat them in the house because Brent had woken up from his nap just a few minutes prior to our arrival and lets just say he wasn't fully dressed:) We had a great time with all of our friends and family and feel completely blessed to be in such good company.
