I drove into the parking lot and low and behold there was a parking spot near the front and right next to a cart drop-off. I love these parking spots for two reasons:
1) I can transfer kids directly into a cart right there by the car
2) If I'm parked next to the buggy drop-off, then hopefully it prevents shoppers from leaving their buggy next to my car since the cage is just right there. My hope is that people aren't too lazy to do the right thing if it's so close they would feel guilty if they didn't return their shopping cart to the proper place to prevent it from hitting a vehicle while unoccupied in the parking lot.
So, not only did I get a great parking spot, but Wal-Mart upgraded some of their carts as seen in the picture below. It's not only a blue riding thing for kids, but can be used for handicapped adults as well. The sign on the blue thing says for two children or one adult: Max weight 200lbs.
How great Wal-Mart! I know it's not important to most, however, it made me think of my brother Matt when he was unable to walk amongst other things just a few years back. The only way he could get around was to have a wheel chair which could only carry a few items in the small attached basket. So there you have it. The simple things.
